Education and Support

The Founders of Wings (Nan & Gary Zastrow) believe that education is the key to healing grief. Since 1997, they have offered workshops, seminars, and presentations that are a blend of education and support. They do not counsel; but rather offer encouragement based on their own experiences and the knowledge they’ve acquired throughout their journey. Both are Certified Grief Educators through Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s programs at the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, Colorado. They continue to learn by attending ongoing continued education classes, seminars, and they learn how others grieve through the experiences of those who attend their events. Gary died Jan. 15, 2023 and Nan continues this ministry in his memory.

SUPPORT GROUPS and ZOOMGRIEF-VIRTUAL SUPPORT

Wings is now offering both in-person and virtual ZOOMGRIEF support groups beginning in May 2022. There will be both offerings to accommodate those who prefer the in-person venue and those who do not wish to travel and meet in person. The in-person groups will also be offered on ZOOMGRIEF at a different time. Registration for both groups is required. Click on the link below for details and to register.

GRIEF WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

In 2023, Wings-a Grief Education Ministry resumed their Grief Education Seminar Event. Each year a guest speaker is invited to our event. This Event is scheduled for Fall. Watch for our flyers and announcements on the website, Facebook and at the local funeral homes. These events are open to the public as well as those who work with or care for the bereaved. Some CEUs are awarded by the Department of Safety and Professional Services.
