Give Sorrow Words
Finding Hope for your Journey ~ Grief Support Group
Grief is something we consider private and personal, as though only we can own it. We live in a culture that
avoids talking about loss and one that wants us to move quickly through mourning to become our former
But, grief is a process that takes time and work. When grief goes unnamed and unspoken, it remains unresolved.
The ever-changing emotions of grief may catch you by surprise. You may sometimes wonder if you will ever get
through your loss.
This group brings people together in a safe environment to share similar experiences and challenges after the
death of a loved one. Here you will learn about the process of grief, factors that affect your grief, and coping
strategies to help you heal. You will be able to express your feelings without judgement to others who support
your journey. Some subjects discussed will include: grief behaviors, mental mind games, grieving styles, and
how to live beyond grief and find hope.
About this group
This group is NEW this fall – designed for the bereaved in any phase of their grief and for any circumstance of
death. This is a six-week series, not a drop-in group, that will help you gain knowledge and comfort in the words
of your facilitators, your fellow bereaved, and the wisdom of experts. This group will be led by Certified Grief
Educators who have served the Wausau area for over 20 years. If you are still feeling the depth of your sorrow,
